As many of you know, I applied to the photography department at BYU. I received a letter from them today and unfortunately, I was not accepted to the program.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who visits this site, whether its your first time or if you are a constant viewer. Thank you. It really means so much to me to hear your feedback and your interest in my work. I love photography and knowing that people even come and look at my work means so much to me. So thank you for all your positive comments and your support.

Even though I was not accepted into the major, I still plan to increase my talent as a photographer. I am disappointed that photography will not be my major here at BYU, but I am thankful that I had the chance to try. I'm thankful for all the work that I put into it and all my classes that I took for this plan. I have learned so much.

As I plan for the future, I realize that God has a plan for all of us, and it is much better then the plans that we make for ourselves.

Just know that I'm not giving up!

Vintage Finds

I saw these suitcases at an antique store during my lunch break and I fell in love. It was $20 for both suitcases. Ummm great find? I think so. I bought the old camera off of Ebay, I think I want to start collecting them. After buying both items I wanted to show them off, so I made Paige be my model again and off we went for a photo shoot. Here are some of my favorites so far...

They mostly just show off her outfit, which I'm okay with because we were pretty proud of ourselves for putting it together haha

I'm loving my new layout! What do you think?

The old one just felt too cluttered with the background and to be honest that giant picture of me freaked me out every time I went on my blog.

So I did a little spring cleaning and I'm loving this so much better. Classic white with little hints of teal gold and pink, probably the three best colors mans eyes have seen. The simplicity of it allows the photographs to be seen in the best possible light instead of having to compete with the busy background and gigantic header.

Also, there are some new additions, under the header I have created a couple pages for your viewing pleasure. There you can find a little about me, who im blog stalking, and how to get ahold of me. Its all under construction right now btu I hope to have it finished tonight.

I feel so much better.

Photoshop actions are probably the best thing ever created! They save me so much time and add something special to the images that im not skilled enough to add quite yet haha. Let me explain... Photoshop actions can be created, downloaded for free, or bought. When you download or create your action it shows in the form of a button on a photoshop side panel. Once downloaded, all you have to do is press the button and it goes through all the steps automatically and edits your image for you. Different actions will create different styles and can transform your picture a million different ways. Its so much fun and SO easy! Here is an example of my original photo and what it looks like after an action button.

See what I mean??? Great huh??? Well if you have photoshop and want to download some free actions click HERE There are TONS of free ones... just click on the picture and it will take you to a new site.. from there look on the left side and hit "download" once downloaded, just click on the file and it will import to your actions panel. Then your good to go! Enjoy!

1. I over-edit. Ughhh its one of my worst habits!

2. I love to read.. give me a good cheesy love story and you wont see me until I've finished it. I got that from my mom for sure.

3. I love weird music. Lots of people make fun of me for my music choice especially with all the country fans here haha but I love chill alternative music the best:) & I always admire people when they have good taste in music.

6. I've been having lots of baby dreams lately. Isn't that weird?? Its kinda freaking me out

7. I enjoy clutter and chaos. I think a little chaos makes life interesting. I think "He's Just Not that Into You" said it best when he said "You thrive on the drama" hahah I always wait till the last second to write a paper just to wonder if i'll finish on time, and I always do. && when I say clutter I don't mean dirty (even if that is the case a lot of the time) haha I mean I like little pieces of character added to my room. I've never been a fan of plain.
